Benefit & Silent Auction
The Benefit & Silent Auction on October 4th, 2009 at Severna Park Elks was a huge success due to the generous contributions of businesses, private donations and Cody’s dear friends. The Benefit & Silent Auction grossed $18,978.63 (tickets, Silent Auction items, 4 gambling wheels, 50/50 raffle). Ticket sales at $30.00 each was a bargain including food, beer, music and the Octoberfest ambiance! Earnings from tickets generated about $9,460.73 from the over 300 paid guests (present & absent). Over 135 businesses donated items to make our event meaningful! The Silent Auction tables attracted bids donating approximately $8529.35 to TCSJF (The Cody St. John Foundation). Gambling wheels gleaned a total of $765.55. Then the 50/50 Raffle made $223.00 for TCSJF. Expenses, such as food for the event, supplies, etc have been deducted giving us $17,788.99 so far. The final profit has not been calculated. Even after four contacts with the Severna Park Elks, they have not presented TCSJF with a final bill for rental of hall ($200.00) & the four gambling wheels, and the beer. Our best estimate is a profit of about $16,500.00…
